Season’s Greetings!
As we say goodbye to 2017 and usher in a brand new year, here’s a quick round-up of what’s happened during the last few weeks and a reminder of what’s still to come in the next few months… exciting times ahead!
Panto Success
Congratulations to everyone who was involved in Franklin’s year-end Panto “Peter Goes To Wonderland” – from cast to crew to the amazing audiences who made sure we had three sold out performances!! We knocked it OUT THE PARK!!!
AGM
Thank you to everyone who took the time out to come to our AGM. It was a very successful meeting with record breaking attendance! We were able to make a few amendments to the Constitution which is published on our website here. Minutes of the meeting and Chairman’s report will be distributed in due course. We would like to thank our outgoing committee for all the hard work over the past year. The dedication, sacrifice and energy that went on behind the scenes made 2017 a truly successful year, and we invite our incoming committee to continue with the blood, sweat and tears in 2018! It is going to be a magical one!

Inter-Society Section…
RLT Productions
RLT Productions concluded a most rewarding theatre year with “Bards of Parodise”, a melange of song, dance and comedy at the Roodepoort Basement Theatre in November and December. With the youngest cast members aged 8 and the most senior very nearly 80, they’ve shown yet again that community theatre places no bounds on age (good luck finding this sort of range at your local bowls club or skateboard park) and level of experience. From the unstinting commitment and never-ceasing creativity of Oriela van der Walt, the show’s multi-talented creator and director, to the passionate participation of each cast and crew member, RLT never ceases to delight with its always unique and always entertaining festive season frolic.
They congratulate Franklin on yet another year of stupendous achievement (including winning the RLT October quiz – rematch coming soon). They thoroughly enjoyed having Franklin and EADS on board for their “Killa’ Jewels in July” one-act play season and look forward to further showstopping inter-societal shenanigans in 2018.
EADS
Congratulations on a spectacular run of “King Arthur The Panto” and we look forward to seeing what you have next up your sleeve.
Protea Stage Productions
Protea’s exciting new showcase will take to the stage on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th March 2018. Any performance can be entered as long as it’s not longer than 30 minutes or so. Watch this space for all the details.
Tips and Tricks
All performers need to rest and take time out to re-energise and rejuvenate.
DO THIS NOW!!
2018 is going to be a big year. Enjoy your time off! Enjoy the time with your loved ones, be gentle with yourselves, be safe, be merry, be present and importantly, be YOU!
May you all have a blessed, beautiful and joyous festive season, and a spectacular, prosperous and magical new year!
Catch you on the flip side!
