A Massive Success: One-Acts Festival We are thrilled to announce that our One-Acts Festival was a resounding success! A huge thank you to everyone who participated, attended, and supported this wonderful event. We are incredibly proud of all the talent showcased and the hard work put in by everyone involved.
A Word from the Chairperson First and foremost, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to every actor who had the courage to step on stage. It takes a special kind of bravery to perform in front of an audience, to share a piece of your soul through your craft. Your performances have not only entertained us but also moved us, inspired us, and reminded us of the power of storytelling. Thank you for your dedication, your talent, and your unwavering commitment to the art of theatre.
I would also like to express my deepest appreciation to our directors, stage crew, lighting and sound technicians, set and costume designers, and of course, my committee and shadow committee. To everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, your efforts have created a seamless and magical experience for our audience, and your contribution is invaluable. A special mention must go to our volunteers and sponsors, whose generosity has helped make this festival possible.
We celebrate not just the success of our festival but also the incredible individuals who have significantly contributed to our theatre community. It is my honor to announce that we are renaming our Best Actress and Best Actor awards to recognize two extraordinary people who have left an incredible mark on our theatre.
The Best Actress award will now be known as the “Betty Rawheath Best Actress Award.”
Betty, your generous financial contributions have been instrumental in supporting our lighting system and enhancing the overall production quality. Your support has not only illuminated our stage but has also helped us bring our artistic vision to life. This renaming is a small token of our immense gratitude for your unwavering support.
Similarly, the Best Actor award will be renamed the “Hendrik Greyvenstein Best Actor Award.”
Hennie, your contributions, not only this year but for the past decade, have played a crucial role in keeping Franklin’s doors open and ensuring the sustainability of our theatre. We are deeply grateful for your dedication and support.
As we look back on the success of our one-act theatre festival, let us also look forward with excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead. Together, we have created something truly special, and I am confident that with passion and teamwork, we will continue to achieve great things.
Thank you once again to everyone who has made this festival a resounding success. Your hard work, talent, and love for theatre are what make our community so extraordinary.
