SUCCESS AT THE EADS ONE-ACT FESTIVAL!

Congratulations to the cast and crew of ‘What Tangled Webs’, the best overall production at Franklin’s One-Act Festival 2014, for reaching the final of the EADS Annual One-Act English Play Festival, and placing 3rd overall!

Up against 7 other high-quality productions from around the country, What Tangled Webs had the audiences in stitches and received glowing praise from the adjudicators, making this a truly awesome achievement. Thanks for making The Franklin Players proud guys!

CLEANING UP ON YOUTH DAY

Good organisation plays a crucial part in any success, and for this reason we made use of Youth Day, Monday, 16 June, to clean, tidy and organise the hall. Our sincerest thanks go out to Tamara Allkins, Suresh Nampuri, Els de Bundel, Nkopane Makhetha, Dani Tillier, James Urbani, Samantha Keller, and Wendy and Taryn Brehm for graciously giving up their time, on a public holiday, to make sure that the clean-up went very well.

SUGGESTIONS FOR THE YEAR-END SHOW

Time is running out for any suggestions you might have for a play for the year-end show. Submissions close at the end of this month, so if there is any particular play that you would like to see performed at the end of the year, please send your suggestion(s) to: franklinplayersmembers@gmail.com by no later than Monday, 30 June.

Remember, suggestions can be for original or established plays, but bear in mind that the end of year show is either a pantomime or a musical, and that the director will need to have previously directed a one-act play.

Auditions for the year-end show will be held over the second weekend of August (Sunday, 10 August and Monday, 11 August).
