It’s Panto Time!

We have a cracker of a pantomime hitting the stage this year! The hilarious original script by our resident playwright (and no stranger to the stage himself) is sure to bring on belly laughs and standing ovations from our audiences. We can’t wait to announce the title and plot – so come along to the auditions for the big reveal!

SEPTEMBER AUDITION DATES:
Sunday 9th @ 2.30pm
Monday 10th @ 7.30pm
Wednesday 12th @ 7.30pm

SHOW DATES:
Fridays 23rd and 30th November
Saturdays 24th November and 1st December

Don’t miss the chance to be a part of this year’s big-bang musical extravaganza. Show off your singing / dancing / acting talents, or if you prefer to stay tucked away behind the scenes, we welcome any and all involvement with backstage / costumes / props.

More information regarding audition preparations will be announced right here, so keep an eye on your inbox. Meanwhile, be sure to diarise the audition dates and we’ll see you there!

Cause For Alarm

Sadly, we had quite a dismal audience turnout for our mid-year production – perhaps the lunar eclipse took center stage 🙂  Having said that, the show was extremely well received by our somewhat intimate audiences and much fun was had by cast and crew with the onstage shenanigans, explosions and technical chaos that went on, good times indeed!

Well done to everybody involved in the production, the set was truly a work of art, and the acting talent was incredible. As always a huge THANK YOU to our regular patrons for your support – we do this for you!

Including our mid-year ticket sales, so far this year we have raised a total of R2,104 for our 2018 charity, Baby Moses Child Sanctuary, which we will hand over at the end of the year.

Hang:10

We are super excited with the progress of our pint-sized plays (10min or less) currently being rehearsed for the 2018 Protea “HANG:10” festival taking place in Benoni in just a few weeks from now. We are entering no less than 7 plays, 6 of which are original scripts!

To our new members taking part, welcome to the Franklin family! Keep up the great work, your talents are inspiring and we are going to knock the socks off our audience next month.

RLT Productions

RLT’s mid-year offering, “ROAR-GUST UN-WIND” was exactly what was promised and more! Comedy, whackiness and seriously impressive improv skills à la “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” (remember that awesome show?) The audience had a blast! Thank you RLT members Graham Shirley, Oriela van der Walt, Sylvia Nikolaoy and Nicki Withers, and hats off to top-class comedians Ryan Whittal and Nadiem Solomon for superb entertainment. Protea Stage Productions

Protea will be hosting their first inter-societal “HANG:10” festival of pint-sized plays this September the 21st and 22nd in Benoni. Franklin members are amped to be entering no less than 7 plays and rehearsals are going well.

Rehearsals for Protea’s production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” are well underway. If you would like to be part of the ensemble (which means you get to sing and are on stage a lot) drop them a line! Follow Protea on Facebook.
