Winter Festival 2001
For the 2001 Season of SANATA's Winter Festival, Franklin Players are entering two one-act plays. The first is "Deadline Dawn" - directed by George Garside who has recently joined us from Port Shepstone and the second, "Poppy" will be directed by Tyrone Lewis who has rejoined the society after a five year absence.

Deadline Dawn
A small band of freedom fighters kidnap the daughter of the Isreali Ambassador and hold her hostage against the release of Suleman Persha. A priest offers himself as a substitute hostage.
The play deals with the human interaction between the protagonists, leading to an inevitable, violent conclusion.

On Wednesday 20 June, "Deadline Dawn" was presented at the Space Frame Theatre in the 2001 Winter Festival. The play received imensely favourable critism and on the final night of the festival, was Nominated for the following Awards -
