Once Upon a Party
We are super chuffed to announce that Panto auditions were a huge success! Thank you to all the terrifically talented auditionees who attended, you certainly didn’t make the casting process any easier for our director! That said, casting has been done and rehearsals are already off to a blazing start.
As we know, time flies by so fast that before you know it show time will be here, so please diarise the show dates now and start informing family and friends so that no one misses out!

Fridays and Saturdays: 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th November – 7 for 7.30pm
There will also be a matinee on Saturday 24th – 1.30 for 2pm
Quiz
The themed quiz has become quite a favourite with our Franklin family of late and as such we will be looking at hosting another one on Saturday 17th November in the early afternoon. Watch this space for details!
Hang:10
Protea’s “Hang:10” festival takes place this weekend (21st and 22nd September) with Franklin offerings on Friday night. Show time is 19h00 for 19h30 and it will be awesome to have some support for our fabulous Franklinites who have put in a ton of hard work over a very short period of time to produce six amazingly entertaining skits! We are delighted to be sharing the stage with our sister societies – RLT Productions, Startime Players, and of course Protea Stage Productions. Click the poster for all the details.
RLT Productions
RLT will be sharing the stage with us this Friday 21 September at Protea’s Hang:10 short play festival. Their contributions will be an extract from Moliere’s famous farce “The Imaginary Invalid” and a revival of Graham Shirley’s absurdist sketch “Powers for Algernon”. EADS
EADS’ year-end panto is “FROZEN, The Next Chapter” and their rehearsals are already in full swing. Show dates are 27th October, and 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th November. Follow EADS on Facebook.
Startime Players
Startime Players will be performing at Protea’s Hang:10 festival this Saturday 22nd September with 2 original scripts. They are also hosting their Fangs for the Memories Halloween Dance Party in October to raise funds for their society and for the Boksburg SPCA. A Feast of Celtic Song
If Scottish and Irish traditional song is your fancy, then you’re in for a treat! Christine & the Kilts we will be running at the A&G Theatre on the Square in Sandton for two weeks.
- Running at 8.15pm every night from 18th to 29th September, Tuesday to Saturday
- Saturday also has a matinee performance at 5.30pm
- Ticket prices are R165
- R145 for block bookings of 10 or more
- R115 for pensioners or students
- Half price Tuesdays are R82.50
